To say the Holiday Calbis has a privileged spot is an understatement. Set in Dalyan’s conservation area, it puts 3-metre-tall grasses and interlinked lakes right on your doorstep. Inside, the family that own and run this place have kept things simple. Take the lobby for instance. All polished marble floors, open brickwork and wrought-iron chandeliers - this hexagonal space is the epitome of Ottoman Gothic style. The restaurant is open-sided so you can feast your eyes on those garden views while you tuck into your Turkish buffet breakfast or enjoy a waiter service dinner to a cicada soundtrack. The bedrooms, meanwhile, are an oasis of calm with dark-wood furniture, marble floors and a cream colour scheme.
