Then there are the outdoor areas to consider. The hotel’s grounds stretch out for 30,000 square metres, so you’ll never be short of space – the sculpted gardens are especially nice to wander through. The hotel itself is a grand white building. The rooms have the look of a Mayfair Hotel about them, with regency-style armchairs, royal blue carpets and carved wooden bedheads. Don’t be fooled by their Edwardian appearance, though – they come with all the mod cons, like air-conditioning and satellite TV.

At mealtimes, you can take your pick from three restaurants. The main buffet restaurant features a selection of international dishes, like pizza, fish and roast meat. Roque Nublo serves Canarian food, including Spanish-style chicken and potatoes, while Las Brisas specialises in Mexican and Asian cuisine, and comes highly recommended on TripAdvisor.
