It’s the location that sets this adults-only hotel apart from the crowd. The property is nestled at the foot of a mountain, just metres from Playa Taurito Beach, so it showcases uninterrupted views of the Atlantic. It’s next door to the Playa Taurito lido, too, and less than a five-minute taxi ride from the pretty harbour town of Puerto Mogan, with its waterfront shops and restaurants. What’s more, there’s a courtesy shuttle bus that makes it easy to explore either Puerto Mogan or lively Puerto Rico, a little further on.

At the hotel itself, two swimming pools take pride of place in the grounds. They’re flanked by palms, loungers and parasols, and sit next to a bar, so refreshments are easy to come by. Plus, because the hotel is part of our Thomson Couples range, you can relax in a child-free environment.

The suites themselves have recently been refurbished, so everything’s smart and modern. In terms of décor, lemon walls and cool tiled floors are the mainstays, and they’re offset by plush chocolate-brown bedding. Upgrade to a Superior Suite, meanwhile, and you’ll get your own living room, as well as special extras like a 26-inch LCD TV, and his ‘n’ hers bathrobes and slippers. The balconies in these rooms come complete with twin loungers, so you can soak up the sunshine in your own private space.

On the wining and dining front, there’s plenty to choose from. In the mornings, the buffet restaurant offers up everything from fresh fruit and cereals to cooked breakfasts and sweet pastries. In the evenings, expect Italian specialities like pizza and pasta one night, with traditional Spanish dishes such as paella and tapas the next. Plus, you can look forward to romantic gala dinners twice a week in ‘La Choza’ restaurant.
