Facilities & Services

The facilities and services include laundry service and doctor on call 24 hours a day. Some hotels also include the following facilities: car rental, hairdressing salon, internet access at the reception (payable locally), transport service into the centre of Funchal and parking. All of the above mentioned facilities are not available in all hotels.

Useful Information

The Pestana hotels are approximately 5 km from the town centre and 20 km from Madeira Airport. Nearby, there are many activities such as boat trips, surfing, water skiing, excursions by boat around the coast and to Porto Santo island, excursions around the island, carnival procession; flower festival and gastronomic festivals.

Food & Beverage

Guests will be able to dine in the main restaurant of each hotel which will serve a variety of local and international dishes. There are also a number of bars and pool bars within the hotels which are sure to satisfy and quench their thirst with local and international cocktails, beers, coffees and many other refreshments.

Accommodation

The rooms within all of the hotels are all of high standard and sure to please them and make all of the guests feel at home. Most of the rooms are equipped with a kitchenette, private bathroom with bathtub or shower, cable TV, direct dial telephone, safe deposit box (payable locally). Some of them have balcony.

Guests will be informed three days prior to arrival which hotel they have been allocated. Please note we strongly recommend that transfers are pre-booked.

The Pestana Madeira Selection is made up of four hotels, all of which are part of the Pestana Chain of Hotels. The hotels which guests will be able to stay in are the Pestana Bay, Pestana Gardens Aparthotel, Pestana Village or Pestana Miramar (and from 3rd January 2009 , new hotel added: Pestana Promenade). All hotels are located just outside Funchal, some with direct access to the sea, with a magnificent view over Cape Girao.

Sports & Leisure

The sports and leisure facilities include fresh water swimming pool with an integrated or separated children’s pool and an indoor pool. Some of the hotels include a fitness room or a health club fitness centre with sauna, jacuzzi, Turkish bath and massage service (these facilities are at a charge in some hotels). Some offer games room, billiards, table tennis and darts. Near Pestana Miramar hotel, there are 2 golf courses - the Palheiro Golf Course (18 holes) and the Santo da Serra Golf Club (27 holes). All of the above mentioned facilities are not available in all hotels.
