Set on the seafront in Cala Bona, the Hotel Protur Alicia is in a first-class spot. It’s close to three beaches, including a partly-rocky one just across the road. If you prefer soft sands, though Cala Millor Beach is roughly five minutes’ walk away, while Cala Bona Beach lies just along the promenade.

The shared areas of the hotel are really stylish. Modern sofas and cream rugs take centre-stage in the lobby, and the restaurant combines chic, high-backed chairs with lots of pale wood. The spacious bedrooms are more traditional in design, but they all feature mod-cons like satellite TVs with some English TV channels. Plus, most of them open to balconies with fantastic sea views.
