This smart hotel has recently been renovated, and as such, it really looks the part. Step inside and you’ll find an ultra-modern lobby featuring black marble floors and white cubist sofas, with a sleek bar edged by chrome stools.

Elsewhere, the bedrooms are top of the range. Decorated in a palette of coffee and cream, they’ve got a calm and sophisticated feel. Big beds are dressed in white and topped with apple-green scatter cushions. Trimmings, meanwhile, come in the form of flatscreen TVs, and a balcony or terrace. If you’re after a bit of extra space, opt for a suite - they come with a separate lounge area that’s kitted out with a plush leather corner sofa.

Outdoors, there are two swimming pools. The main one is a big affair that comes with a built-in whirlpool bath. Move round to the second one and you’ll find it’s an altogether quieter set-up. This smaller oblong pool is set in a vast terrace with palms and raised flower beds framing the scene.

Restaurant-wise, there’s a buffet. Expect breakfasts of made-to-order omelettes and pancakes, plus plenty of help-yourself food. Evening meals, meanwhile, are a mix of Spanish and international fare.

There’s one last reason this hotel regularly gets the thumbs up from reviewers on TripAdvisor – its location. It’s just a couple of minutes’ walk from the golden sands of Playa del Muro beach. Plus there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, too.
