This contemporary hotel is in a fantastic spot. A five-minute walk will take you to sophisticated Puerto Banus, with its picture-perfect sands, yacht-lined marina and designer shops. Hop in a cab, meanwhile, and you'll be in glitzy Marbella before you know it.

The property itself boasts lots of luxuries – there’s a spa with his ‘n’ hers treatments, designer bars and glamorous rooms. Plus, as with all our Thomson Couples hotels, it's exclusively for adults, so there's a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms, meanwhile, definitely have an indulgent feel. Treated to a recent makeover, they’re dressed in organic colours with crisp white bed linen. Extra touches come in the form of flatscreen TVs, minibars and balconies.

The boutique theme goes beyond the rooms, though. In the main Toledo bar, for instance, funky salon chairs share space with a shiny Buddha statue and a fluorescent lights bar. In the lobby, it’s all about retro leather chairs and striking wall murals. And in terms of entertainment, it’s low-key singers and acoustic guitarists all the way.

On the food front, the buffet breakfasts and dinners come courtesy of the Cordoba restaurant. Expect hot and cold selections at breakfast and for dinner, fresh meat and fish cooked to order in front of you. If you want to eat al fresco, meanwhile, head for La Terrazza, where the tables are cocooned in palms.
