This modern and rather attractive hotel, built in 2002 and extended in 2005, has endeavoured to incorporate a flavour of the local architecture into its design, and is ideally suited to guests seeking a relaxing holiday. The Maritim is close to the attractions of the village of Mellieha, in the north-west of the island, and from its location, affords a splendid view over the terraced valley, leading down to Mellieha's sandy beach, about 1km (half a mile) away.

Water facilities are a vital ingredient to a relaxing holiday, and here, guests can choose from two outdoor swimming pools: the Baybliss, with its magnificent rooftop panoramas, and the Garden Pool, sited amongst the inviting grounds, or the indoor, heated saltwater Cascades pool, and accompanying Jacuzzi.
