You’re likely to spend a lot of time in the water at the Nubian Village. As well as two swimming pools with swim-up bars, there’s a miniature aqua park that’s home to three huge waterslides. What’s more, the hotel runs its own scuba school where you can pay a little extra for diving lessons.

The property is in a pretty impressive location, too. The beach is just a two-minute walk away, and it’s dotted with thatched parasols and sunloungers to relax on. Plus, if you feel like getting out and about, it’s just a ten-minute walk to Nabq Bay, where you’ll find a cluster of bars, restaurants and shops.

The hotel itself is a Moorish building with walls the colour of desert sand. Interiors, meanwhile, have a palatial feel to them. The large lobby is all marble columns and water features, and the bedrooms have traditional touches like Egyptian rugs and Arabic art.

When it comes to mealtimes, there are four restaurants. The buffet one serves Egyptian staples like falafel alongside things like pasta and grilled meat. Regular theme nights are put on, too, such as a barbecue evening where kebabs feature on the menu. Your other options include a pizza restaurant, a seafood place and an Egyptian diner, where the food is often accompanied by belly dancing displays.
