he hotel itself is pretty impressive. It's spacious, smart and the friendly atmosphere is evident from the moment you check in. As for the bedrooms, they’re modern, light and airy – and they certainly don’t scrimp on the space. Everything about them is cosy - from the sink-into armchairs to the terracotta and cream colour scheme. It’s real home from home stuff.

In the lobby, they’ve brought the outdoors indoors. A massive atrium fills the marble-floored space with light. Plants, trees and fountains give a garden feel. And the wicker furniture wouldn’t look out of place in a conservatory. It’s like being in a big botanical garden.

But it’s the pool area that deserves special mention at this hotel. There are two rectangular swimming pools vying for your attention here. They’re sunk into a sizeable sun terrace and come complete with an island of palm trees and a dinky waterfall. Plus there’s a poolside bar where you can order a fruity cocktail to cool off.
