El Medano is a small village situated on the south-east side of Tenerife in the town on Granadilla de Abona. This is 40 miles from the capital of the island, Santa Cruz, and 13 miles from Playa de Las Americas. El Medano is famous for windsurfing, where both international and national competitions are held on the famous beaches. There is also kitesurfing, trekking, cycling, golf and scuba diving.
