This newly refurbished hotel is in a great spot, with a sweep of sand to the front and a pine forest to the back. It’s nestled in extensive gardens, too, so you’ve got plenty of space to relax. When you want to up the pace, though, just head to Laganas. You can walk to its shops, bars and restaurants in around ten minutes. Zante Town is pretty close, too – it’s a five-minute drive along the coast, or you can take the bus that stops just outside the property.

At the hotel itself, the swimming pool is the main attraction. It’s sandwiched between the hotel and the beach, so great views stretch out in front of you. There’s a wide sun terrace that’s dotted with loungers and white linen parasols, plus a poolside bar and a pirate ship play area for children.

Inside, things are really fresh and modern. The lobby bar is all white walls, lime-green sofas and scarlet light fittings. Bedrooms, meanwhile, are dressed in coffee tones, with splashes of deep blue in the soft-furnishings. They all have a balcony or terrace, and some offer up sea or garden views. Plus, in-room extras like fridges, air-conditioning and satellite TVs are part of the package.

When it comes to food, the main restaurant serves up big buffets with a Mediterranean flavour – think authentic Greek dishes, seafood and salads. There’s a terrace as well, so you can dine al fresco. And there are two other options for dining too. You have the themed restaurant, set just off the lobby bar and the shorefront eatery which is just metres from the sand and open all day.
